We offer our clients a choice of three programs of chiropractic care.
Relief Only Care - This type of care is short term and is provided strictly for relief of current symptoms. It provides no long-term correction. This type of care usually leaves a person susceptible to relapses.
Corrective Care - This is the primary form of care we provide. It is designed to correct the spinal subluxations. This is long term care that actually corrects a problem.

Wellness Care - This care is only offered to our clients who complete corrective care. This is the ongoing care that people choose to have. This type of program is designed for
lifetime wellness and involves weekly checkups for adults and bi-weekly checkups for children. Think of it like regular exercise, eating a healthy diet of fruits & vegetables, drinking clean water, brushing your teeth, etc. You continue the benefits of
such wellness-oriented activities only as long as you do them. It is not like an event, such as casting a broken arm or stitching a wound. Chiropractic wellness care is an ongoing process like all wellness-oriented lifestyle activities.
Evaluation Services
Our Evaluation procedures are designed to locate interference to the nerve system, as well as to anything in your lifestyle that may be interfering with the Cycle of Health. These services are typically performed on new clients.
The Services we offer for health enhancement are designed to facilitate the ability of the body to adapt to its internal and external environment. Nothing we offer interferes with the natural healing
capabilities of the body. Corrective care will usually involve a variety of these services, whereas relief care will typically only involve skilled spinal adjustments.
Either chiropractor, Dr. Bodzin or Dr. Sutter, will meet with you directly, gathering all the pertinent information necessary in order to outline a treatment plan. The evaluation will include a thorough consultation, physical
examination, computerized spinal surface EMG and, if necessary, radiographs of the spine. The entire process usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. Take a Virtual First Visit.
The sEMG is a very valuable test. It allows the doctor to analyze the spine and objectively document the areas of spinal dysfunction. The sEMG actually measures the electrical activity of the
muscles along the spine. When the spine is subluxated, the muscles surrounding that level of the spine either become more or less active. This level of muscle activity can be read by measuring the electrical output of the muscle. Too little or too
much activity is a sign of spinal dysfunction. Imbalance between the left and right spinal muscles can also indicate dysfunction. The sEMG is exactly like an EKG, which monitors the electrical activity of the heart muscle. Cardiologist use the EKG to
determine if the heart if functioning properly. In essence, Dr. Bodzin uses the sEMG to determine if the spine is functioning properly.
The MyoVision sEMG result to the right demonstrates the 'read out' generated by the computer. The red bars indicate an abnormal level of muscle activity along those levels of the
spine.
Spinal Radiographs
Spinal radiographs (x-rays) are taken to analyze the alignment of the spine, as well as the state of degeneration that may exist. This information is very important for determining the prognosis
(what can be expected) and what type of care is recommended.
After years of training, and hundreds of hours of practice and thousands of patients, a doctor of chiropractic can safely perform Skilled Spinal Adjustments (SSA). The SSA is a very safe and very
specific manipulation to the vertebrae, which results in the restoring of proper spinal alignment and motion. Often, a "popping sound" is heard, although not always, indicating the SSA has occurred. The "popping" is a release of gas,
similar to the pop of a champagne bottle opening.
The benefits of SSA are many, including relief of pain, improved nerve system performance, increased range of motion, all resulting
in the optimization of the body's capability to adapt to a constantly changing internal and external environment. Making Skilled Spinal Adjustments a regular part of your life is one of the most important and powerful forms of true preventive
care.
One of the most common abnormal postures is a
"forward head with slumped shoulders". It commonly begins in teenagers from sitting all day in school, carrying back packs loaded down with books, or from spending too many hours in front of video games and computers. It can also result from whiplash injures at any age. Practically everyone you know probably has some level of forward head posture. We typically observe patients
carrying their head one, two, three, even four inches forward. This puts an incredible amount of stress on the spine, leading to dysfunction and eventually - spinal degeneration, which can go on for years without any obvious symptoms.
Eventually, typical symptoms include neck and upper back pain and stiffness, numbness in the arms, headache, dizziness, poor attitude, difficulty concentrating, TMJ dysfunction, and worst of all - a severely compromised ability to adapt to a constantly
changing internal and external environment. Improving your posture can halt the degenerative process and lead to a more optimized ability to adapt to a constantly changing internal and external environment. Take a Home Test.
Custom Fit Orthotics
Your posture is only as good as the balance of your pelvis and legs. If one leg happens to be longer, or one of the arches of your feet it flatter than the other, then it is likely that your
spine will be out of balance. We recommend the use of spinal balancing orthotics.
We take a weight bearing cast of your feet, then have a custom made orthotic shoe insert made just for you. By wearing these orthotics in your shoes, you will then have more balance in your body,
thus allowing your body to adapt more easily to the physical demands placed upon it.

Cervical & Lumbar Supports
Both the neck (cervical) and low back (lumbar) have forward curves. These curves are very important in maintaining a balanced spine and proper posture. The curves give our spine strength (like
the "curved wall" of a dam) & flexibility (like the spring we get by bending our knees when we jump up & down). If you lose these curves, your spine will be weak & stiff. To enhance the body's ability to adapt, it is extremely beneficial to have a
strong & flexible spine.
Two activities everyone does everyday that "straightens" the spinal curves are sitting and lying down with a standard pillow. Therefore, we recommend the use of a Lumbar Support when sitting and a Cervical Pillow for
sleeping. Both support the spine properly so that you maintain the curves during the activity.
The lumbar support is a cushion that is placed in a your chair and supports the lower back curve. The cervical pillow supports the neck properly so
when you sleep you have the proper curve in your neck.
Have you ever woken up with a stiff neck? Has your back ever hurt or been stiff after sitting? You would most likely benefit by using these simple supports as part of your plan. Order Your Support Online.
Nutritional Recommendations
By far, nutrition is the most important of all the practices. It will have the biggest impact on your body's ability to adapt.
The area of nutrition can be broken down into three
areas.
Foods that should be eaten.
Foods & substances to avoid.
Supplementation
We address each of these areas with our patients. More Information.
